I sized up to an XL for a loose fit in these shorts. I like how soft and light the fabric is. They do stay on my waist with the drawstring, but they do get kinda gobbled up by my thighs haha. They're perfect for casual/lounge use, but I wouldn't wear them for all-day/extesnive walking due to the thigh issue.

Very soft and comfy. I sized up for a looser fit. Only complaint is my thighs eat these up a bit but they are great for casual wear and lounging.
